The New South Wales Mini Trotting Championships for 2017 will be held at Tamworth over the Easter weekend.
The location of the series was announced last week at the NSW Mini Trotters Association Annual General Meeting held at Bathurst.
With almost 20 people in attendance, Junee horseman Terry Judd was sworn in as President while Jackie Graham as the Vice President, Kristy Bond as the Treasurer and Daryll Jackson as the Secretary and Publicity Officer.
"We had a good response at the meeting and I'm happy to be re-elected as president as it is quite rewarding," Judd said.
"All of my children went through the mini trotting ranks and now have friends in every state because of it.
"We have made many family friendships through mini trotting and I hope that can continue for other people."
With the announcement of the Mini Trotting Championships heading to the North West next year, Judd is hoping it will help boost the mini trotters in the area.
"Every year clubs have phases with children moving from mini trotters onto driving the big horses and we have just gone through that with Tamworth," Judd said.
"One of our goals is to work with all clubs and try and increase their memberships in particular the relatively new clubs Albury and Dubbo as well as Tamworth and Bathurst.
"We will continue to support race days such as the Miracle Mile, Fisher's Ghost, Industry Day and Carnival of Cups.
"We will also have the Ross Gigg Mini Trot Drivers Challenge at Newcastle on August 20, where a driver from each of the clubs will be selected to compete in the series.
"We will continue our reciprocal agreement with New Zealand and also look at establishing a national mini trotting event."
