The Dubbo Harness Racing Club are rallying their support to help local horseman Kyle Barnes and his fight against pancreatic cancer.
A special gymkhana will be held at Dubbo on Saturday December 3 to raise funds for Barnes and his family as he undergoes many operations.
Commencing at 6pm, there will be prizes for all winners plus mini trotters and a barbeque to also entertain the crowd.
Barnes' daughter Kylie has also set up an online donation page for those wishing to make donations at www.mycause.com.au/page/142036/kyle_barnes
"Dad is hoping to make it to the gymkhana next Saturday if he doesn't need to be in hospital," Kylie said.
"He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer three months ago and it's very hard to see him this way especially because he was driving horses in races just five months ago.
"All support is appreciated and if people do donate money online please put your first and last name on the donation so we know who has donated."
