CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Rose Run Quest will look to use rail control to his advantage on Harness The Hope night Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. Red Shores and Standardbred Canada will also salute the harness racing grooms part of National Caretaker's Appreciation weekend.
The 12-dash Saturday card has a 6 P.M. first race post time with Rose Run Quest the morning line favourite in race 11 of the program. The Harness The Hope program will feature cooler presentations on every race along with a chance for on track customers to purchase a key for a chance to win fabulous prizes for the online event taking place on Sunday beginning at 7pm. The evening will also feature the Bouncy Pony stakes with 2019 champion Steven Shepherd back to defend his title. The race by drivers on the inflatable bouncy ponies will take place after race 5.
Rose Run Quest has scored a pair of second place finishes since moving into the Gilles Barrieau stable but will draw clear of Time To Dance in this week's $3,150 preferred pace as he looks to find the wire first. Owned by Blair Hansen of Charlottetown, Rose Run Quest boasts 46 lifetime wins. His stablemate in the dash is the richest Maritime Bred of all-time, The Rev, from post 3 with Dale Spence picking up the catch drive behind the $612,000 winner. Lisburn has the far outside in the field of seven for trainer-driver Kenny Arsenault.
Peter MacPhee with Post Time Picks likes the chances of Rose Run Quest to get it all. "Rose Run Quest was sent to the point last time and was just collared at the wire by Time To Dance. We think the game plan will be the same this week only this time he may go all the way."
Other entries in the preferred field are Woodmere Ideal Art (To be driven by Brodie MacPhee), Simple Kinda Man (Jason Hughes), Screen Test (Corey MacPherson) and Freddy Bear (Adam Merner).
Silver Beast in favoured in the race 7 The Gray Group Real Estate Development pace with Dale Spence driving the MacKenzie MacInnis trainee from post 3 in the $2,500 event. The four-year-old son of Betterthancheddar was a winner his last two starts with his latest in 1:54.4. Other top entries are Three Truths (MacPhee) from post 6 and Jordies Hope (Barrieau) taking on the boys from post 5.

Mantario Takes On Summerside's Finest
SUMMERSIDE, PE – After closing hard against the richest Maritime bred even his last week, Mantario will try to get it all in the Sunday afternoon feature at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway. Red Shores, The Prince County Horsemen's Club and Standardbred Canada will also salute the grooms part of National Caretaker's Appreciation weekend.
The 12-dash Sunday afternoon presentation at the Prince County oval has the top class lining up in race 11 of the day with Mantario the favourite from the outside post 6. David Dowling will drive the Jennifer Doyle trainee in the $2,700 event for owners Doyle and Danny Birt of Earnscliffe.
The Sportswriter pacer closed hard to finish second to The Rev in a 1:53.4 mile last week, pacing his own mile in 1:54 flat. The Governor's Plate finalist will have some sturdy competition on his way to the winner's circle on Sunday. Heart And Soul will leave from post 4 as he looks to add to his 10 top-three finishes from 13 seasonal outings with Brodie MacPhee in the bike for trainer George Riley. Soccer Hanover will hold down post 5 with Ken Murphy in the driver's seat while the lone mare in the field, Misty Memory N, has rail control with Jason Hughes at the lines.
The Backstretch Beat in Sunday's card pegs Mantario for the top spot. "Mantario came out of the clouds to just miss in 1:54 his first start for conditioner Doyle. He is sure to get a more aggressive steer this time and we like his chances to get it all."
Other entries are Adkins Hanover (To be driven by Ambyr Campbell) and Hungers Pangs (Taylor Doyle).
Dylan's Future has been installed as the morning line favorite in the Bob MacInnis memorial in race 5. Norris Rogers will handle the two-year-old colt for owner-trainer Frank Banks, Summerside, PE.
Pictonian Storm is favoured in the race 8 back-up class with Brodie MacPhee driving the 37-time winner in the $2,250 race. Wade Sorrie trains the son of Western Paradise for owner Tammy Collings of Hazel Brook. Other top entrants include Power Of A Cruiser (Norris Rogers) and Howmac Magic (Hughes).
