Charlottetown, PE – McJestic, with Jason Hughes in the bike, powered up the passing lane to win the Thursday harness racing feature at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park in 1:56.4. Troy Murray, Cornwall, PE, owns and trains the pacer who notched his fifth win of the season. Eagle Jolt was second with fraction setter Forever Paradise third.
The best trotters on the East coast lined up in the open trot and Freddie, owned by the Wiseman stable, Cornwall, PE, rolled to his fourth win in a row for trainer-driver Marc Campbell. The time of the mile was 2:00.1 with a closing quarter in 28.3 seconds. Thunderaway (Jason Hughes) finished second, off the leader by a length, while Westwood (Gary Chappell) rallied for third.
I Aint No Lady (Brian MacPhee) and Paymenowpaymelater (Gilles Barrieau) won their respective trot assignments. Barrieau recorded a driving grand-slam on the card while trainer Earl Watts notched a training double on the card.
Driver -trainer Mike McGuigan and owner James Whelan teamed up to make two trips to the winner's circle with scores on R Es Miss Emily and Sugar Crisp.
