SUMMERSIDE, PE - With a win streak at stake, Woodmere Oleksiak will try to continue her winning ways in Atlantic Sires Stakes harness racing action Friday evening at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway as part of Governor's Plate Week racing.

The Friday program has an even dozen dashes in store with the first race of the night hitting the track at 6:30 P.M.

Woodmere Oleksiak is the favourite in her Atlantic Sires Stakes A-division for three-year-old pacing filles carrying a $12,700 purse in race 11. David Dowling will drive the daughter of Articulator from post 2 for trainer Earl Watts and owners Hollis Newson of Cornwall, Windemere Farms of Hampshire, and Nova Scotia owners Ric McNutt of Onslow Mountain and Debbie Denney of Brooklyn. The filly was winless in 17 tries until two starts ago where she broke her maiden in a 1:58.3 romp, then followed it up with a front end score in Atlantic Sires Stakes action June 30 at Inverness Raceway in Nova Scotia. Her top contenders in Friday's contest are Arc Light (Driven by Marc Campbell) from post 4 and Woodmere Tango (Clare MacDonald) with post 5.

Cheeky Cherry receives top billing as the morning line choice in the other $12,700 sophomore filly A-division in race 9 with MacDonald training and driving for owner Earith Riley of Summerside. Other top entrants are Howmac Sabrina (Dowling) and Elm Grove Nellie (Spence).

The program will also see a trio of three-year-old pacing filly B-divisions in races 2, 4 and 7 carrying $2,500 purses in each.

The Bud Ramsay Memorial pace lines up in race 3 and early favourite Miss Sangria goes into the event fresh off a pair of second place finishes and draws post 6 for driver Adam Merner, trainer Melissa Rennie and owner Alex MacPhee of Clyde River.

Race 12 is billed as the Medastar Memorial pace and Nogreatmischief will be the morning line favourite with post 2 for trainer-driver and co-owner Walter Cheverie of Nine Mile Creek and co-owner Brian Thompson of Charlottetown.
