SUMMERSIDE, PE - Being the longest shot on the board meant nothing to Varadero Hanover as he upset the Sunday afternoon featured harness racing pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

Taking a perfect two-hole ride in the $2,600 top class, Ken Murphy drove by in the stretch to win with Varadero Hanover at 13-1 odds in 1:56.2. Jeff Wallace trains the nine-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere for owner Bobby Gordon of Elmsdale. Mando Fun (Driven by Gilles Barrieau) was second and Nogreatmischief (Walter Cheverie) circled up to finish third.

Dusty Lane Cortez delivered as the favourite in the race 4 Isabelle and Ivan Cameron Memorial pace with a 1:58.1 mile for driver David Dowling and trainer Devon Wallace of Alberton.

The Leon Stewart Memorial saw O Christopher win in 2:01.2 with Norris Rogers in the bike for trainer Lester Stewart of Albany.

The race 6 Cecil Stewart Memorial had Myambrose supply a mild upset in 1:59.4 for driver Murphy and trainer Carl MacDougall of Ellerslie while the Lester Chappell Memorial had Badlands Giovanna prevail from post 8 in line to Jason Hughes for owner Stephen Sweet of Springfield West.

JJ Powerball was an open-length winner in the Bob MacInnis Memorial pace for the combination of driver Myles Heffernan Sr., and trainer Wade Sorrie. Time of the mile was 1:56.3.

Gilles Barrieau had a driving triple on the program winning the opener with Still Owing (2:02.1) for trainer Ambyr Campbell of Charlottetown, Souverain in 1:56.2 for trainer Phil Sizer of Kensington and with Disneyman in 1:59.4 from his own stable.
