There was a huge crowd and big fields for the race meet at Cabourg

Today’s Mariendorf Berlin trotting action featured the  Disheg Gockner Notre Dame (purse €10,000, 2500 meters, nine starters) with victory to 1.14.3kr timed and 3/5 favorite Abano H (10g Abano As-Countess Diamond). Thorsten Tietz teamed the Andreas Engl trainee. Helios (8g Tyips-Althea) was second for Michael Honemann ahead of SJs Junior C (6g SJs Photo-Freia Heikant) and driver Stefan Schoonhoven.

At Cagnes-sur-Mer, their headliner, the Grand Prix de la Ville Cagnes-sur-Mer (purse €70,000, 2925 meters, 12 international participants), went to the impressive Tony Gio (5m Varenne-Ilaria Jet) timed in 1.13.4kr for Christophe Martens. This 4.3/1 second choice is trained by Vincent Martens for Scuderia Bivans SRL. 1.3/1 favorite Babylou Max (6g Gazouillis-Kamaxie) was second for David Bekaert and third was 23/1 Ultimate du Rib (9g Dahir de Prelong-Kara Pellois) for trainer/driver J.Ch. Feron and owner Ecurie Rib.

At Cabourg was the Quinte+ Prix Henri Balliere (purse €36,000, 2750 meters, 16 starters) on a summer festival evening with a superb audience. 5.4/1 Baby Haufor (6g Ganymede-Newly Haufor) scored impressively on the front end with Charles J. Bigeon aboard. The trainer is Christian Bigeon, also breeder and owner. 14/1 Battant (6m Jasmin de Flore-Melusine Jiel) was second for owner/trainer/driver Stephane Bourlia. Third was 7.4/1 Blind Faith (6f Prince d’Espace-Kindliness) for Yoann Lebourgeois. Race time was 1.13.5kr.

At Biarritz was the featured Grand Prix Dynavera Maisagri  (purse €45,000, 2950 meters, 12 starters). The 1.9/1 favorite Breland du Vivier (6m Joker de Rozoy) was victorious timed in 1.16.74kr with Jerome Chavatte aboard. Twist Lie (10g Indy de Vive-Fiesole de Mareuil) was second at 7.2/1 and third was 22/1 Univers de Suce (9g Hugo de Mai-Kiva de Suce).

On Thursday July 27 was the Prix Aix en Provence at Enghien for the monte trotters raced by 12 starters over 2250 meters for a purse of €50,000. The 1.14.3kr timed victorious trotter was 21.2/1 Cook Star (5m Look de Star-Originalite) with P-Y Verva in the irons for trainer and breeder Sebastien Guarato. Caravella (5f Quaro-Pania de Joudes) took the second spot for jockey Alexandre Abrivard and trainer L.Cl. Abrivard. Home third was Disco des Moland (4g Quitos du Mexqar-Quiche des Moland) teamed with Eric Raffin.

On Wednesday (July 26) the Q+ and Enghien featured Prix du Medoc (purse €65,000, 2875 meters, 17 starters) went to 1.14.7kr timed and 7.8/1 Big Headache (7g EL Mikko-Southwind Roselle) reined by Philippe Dauguard, also trainer, for FI owner Timo Hulkkonen. Second was Tresor du Fan (10g Hermes Perrine-Joyeuse de Bade) for driver Franck Nivard, with third to Shogun DK (8g Gentle Star-Ladygill) and driver Eric Raffin.

Also Wednesday was the featured Gr. III Prix de la Chaussee d’Artin (purse €85,000, 2875 meters, nine starters) and 2.3/1 favorite Chicago Blues (5m Prodigious-New Orleans) scored timed in 1.14.7kr for trainer/driver Thierry Duvaldestin for Ecurie Bresil. 14.7/1 Comte du Vivier (5g Prince Gede-Jon1ue du Vivier) was next for Dominik Locqueneux. Third went to Cirrus Atout (5g Look de Star-Ire du Ciel) driven by Gabriele Gelormini for trainer Sebastien Guarato.

Saturday top trotting activity moves to Enghien with two groupe III contests and the Quinte+ Prix de la Bourse.
