September 29, 2015 – The impressive Bold Eagle (4m Ready Cash-Reethi Rah Jet) took at heat of the Grand Prix de l’U.E.T. over 2100 meters autostart for a purse of €60,000. Nine European contestants battled against 3/10 odds winner driven by Franck Nivard for trainer Sebastien Guarato and owner Pierre Pilarski.
Bold Eagle recorded his 16th career victory in 19 starts, now for earnings of €660,800.
The winner scored in 1.11.7kr (1:55.36 mile rate) closing hastily after the first 1100 meters were timed in a 1.13.1kr rate. Guarato trainees finished in the top three positions. Second, two lengths from the winner, was 3.1/1 odds Billie de Montfort (4f Jasmin de Flore-Quismy de Montfort) owned by Philippe Dauphin. This great mare has 15 wins now in career 28 starts for earnings of €956,175. 46/1 Bocage d’Ortige (4m Mirage du Goutier-Providence) was third handled by Mathieu Abrivard and fourth went to Black d’Avril (4m Oceano Nox-Olivia d’Avril) with Franck Ouvrie up. Exceptional Boko (4m Virgill Boko-Uncommon Boko) was fifth for pilot Robin Bakker and trainer Dion P. Tessalar at 28/1 Etienne Dubois teamed sixth finishing Belly Charm (4f Prodigious-Jelly Charm) for Ecurie Victoria Dreams. Billie de Montfort was first to lead and then achieved a pocket trip as Bold Eagle gained the front before the 1000 meter mark. Bold Eagle was much the best this day.

The €80,000 monte Prix Lilius (2850 meters, 12 European starters) at Vincennes went to hard charging 8.7/1 odds Bijou d’Auvillier (4g Kepler-Olive d’Auvillier) handled by Mlle. Caroline Charadame. The winner scored in 1.13.7kr off rated fractions (1.13.4kr with 1000 meters to go ; 1.13.2kr with 500 remaining ; 1.13.7kr at finish). Second was Boston Terrie (4g Kesaco Phedo-Nouvelle Idole) for Paul-Philippe Pioquin at 34/1 with third to 4.4/1 Asis Bot Eur Noel (5g Pagalor-Cora du Noel) for jockey Guillaume Martin. Next to the line were Italy’s Radieux (5g Love You-Dordogne) for Mathieu Abrivard and trainer Lutfi Kolgjini ahead of And Gibus (5g Diamant Gede-Ok Lady) with Alexis Garandreau aboard.
At Cabourg today the Prix des Millepertuis (purse €14,000, 2850 meters, 10 two year-old starters) went to 9/1 odds Don Williams (2m Opus Viervil-Mass Williams) driven by trainer Emmanuel Allard and clocked in 1.20.7kr. 10/1 Dard Roc (2m Roc Meslois-Mutine Merceaux) was second for trainer/driver Pierre Belloche, ahead of even-money favorite Dandy Charm (2m Prodigious-Life Is Good) with Julien Dubois up for trainer Philippe Moulin.
4.7/1 odds Askino (5m Nijinski Blue-Nalana) with Mathieu Mottier up won the Prix de Cintheaux (€27,000, 2850 meters, 16 starters) at Cabourg, timed in 1.15kr. He overcame a 25 meter handicap to defeat 3.2/1 Angel Sky (5m Orlando Vici-Iffrida) handles=d by trainer Tuomas Korvenoja and third finishing 11/1 Atome de l’Ormeau (5g Open Charm-Parnela de l’Ormeau) and 14/1 Altius Fortis (5m Ganymede-Neia la Fortis) with Philippe Masschaele driving. Masschaele was back on FR duty after winning a pari-mutuel monte contest at Mohawk in Ontario, Canada last weekend in a North American race record time of 1:56.4s with Santo Domingo, an Amigo Hall gelding, over the mile distance.
