The Easter Sunday highlighter was at Ippodromo Torino in the PR Costa Azzurra, raced over 1600 meters autostart for a purse of 180,400€. The lineup was a solid international group and the well-traveled, gallant French mademoiselle Billie de Montfort (10f Jasmin de Flore - Quismy de Montfort) scored in 1.11.1kr, a course record.

Gabriele Gelormini orchestrated the wire to wire victory by Billie de Montfort, her 21st career win now for 2,456,388€ earned. Her winning time today eclipsed the previous record of 1.11.3kr jointly held by Napoleon Bar and Pascia’Lest. Sebastien Guarato trains Billie for her breeder/owner Philippe Dauphin. By comparison, her longtime rival Belina Josselyn retired with 23 wins for 2,618,970€ and she foaled a Ready Cash filly this week.

Second today was Zaccaria Bar (6m Ready Cash - Filandia-Lindy Lane) for Roberto Vecchione with third to Amon You SM (5m Love You - Emon Sante Fe’SM - Lemon Dra handled by Antonio Greppi. Fourth home was Vitruvio (7m Adrian Chip - Tigre AM-Zebu) for Fed Esposito. Bahia Quesnot was eighth and Arazi Boko ended 11th as Vivid Wise As and Elsa de Belfonds were miscue dq’s.

Today in France, at Avignon le Pontet, was the Prix des PMU du Vaucluse (purse 45,000€, 2650 meters distance handicap, the Trophee Vert Leg 1) and 2/1 Espoir du Marny (7g Village Mystik - Queens du Marny) overcame his 25 meter handicap to win easily in 1.15.4kr. Kevyn Thommerieux owns, trains and reined the winner to his 15th career victory. His earnings are now 248,230€.

The 32/1 odds and 25 meter penalized Call Secret (9g Prodigious - Secret Night) was a distant second for trainer/driver Laurent Gout and Ecurie Victoria Dreams. Jean Philippe Dubois was his breeder. Third was 1.5/1 favorite El Presidente (7g Password - La Memoria) with Kevyn Devienne up for trainer J.M. Roubaud. This one came into the race with eight wins in his last nine appearances, but not today.
