July 5, 2017 – Today’s Quinte+ was the Prix de Vincennes at Vichy (purse €42,000, 2850 meters, 15 starters) and the 1.15.4kr timed victory went to rallying on the stands side 3.9/1 Cronos d’Hameline (5g Echo-Rhea d’Hameline) reined by Matthieu Abrivard. 16/1 Black Rain (6f Niky-Quibble) was a close second for Alexandre Abrivard. 6.3/1 Cachou d’Occagnes (5m Islero de Bellouet-Jazza Bourbon) was third for harness racing trainer/driver Franck Nivard. Exact order payout for this Q+ was €6,334.
Also at Vichy was the Prix Hotel de Barcelone (purse €40,000, 2850 meters, 18 starters) and the 1.14.3kr winner was the 5/10 favorite Avrik de Guez (7g Joker de Rozoy-Quoumbaya du Guez) in rein to J-M Bazire for trainer J.Ph. Ducher. 10/1 Very Very Fast (8g Quaro-Nocturne de Bresse) was second for owner/trainer/driver Benjamin Goetz. Third was 7/1 Anduro des Landes (7g Kesaco Phedo-Odemeraude) for Sebastien Hardy, the breeder/owner/trainer/driver.
At Lisieux was the Prix Equip-Horse (purse €25,000, 2725 meters, 13 starters). This event went to 1.15.9kr timed and 1/5 favorite Cheltenham (5m Baccarat du Pont) teamed by Clement Duvaldestin for Ecurie Augustin Normand and trainer Thierry Duvaldestin. 16/1 Basque d’Iraty (6g Ni Ho Ped d’Ombree) was next for Anthony Barrier and third was 40/1 Concerto du Ruel (5g Prince Gede) for trainer/driver Franck Anne.
On the past weekend in SWE were several interesting winners. The July 1 Silver Division at Bergsaker (220,000SEK to winner, 2140 meters autostart) went to 1.11.6kr timed and 3.9/1 Whitehouse Express driven by Orjan Kihlstrom for Daniel Reden. This six year-old son of Yankee Glide-Miss Garland-Garland Lobell is a half-brother to the great SJ’s Photo. On the same card the Gr. I Fillies (925,000SEK to winner, 2140 meters autostart) went to 16/1 Violet Bi (3f Equinox Bi-Fidui Bi-Lemon Dra) and she scored in 1.13.7kr for trainer/driver Jim Oscarsson and owner Easy KB. 49/1 Callela Lisbeth and 57/1 White Lightning trailed the winner.
On July 4 at Bolnas was the Bengt Ivarssons (100,000SEK to winner, 2140 meters autostart) and the 1.12.4kr timed winner was even-money favorite Delicious (8f Cantab Hall-Ipsara LB-Lemon Dra) driven by Orjan Kihlstrom for trainer Daniel Reden and owner Stall Zet. The same day and venue also hosted the Norrlands GP (35,000SEK to the winner, 2140 meters autostart) and the 1.13.9kr timed winner was 3.8/1 Valley Brodde (4g Ready Cash-Valeris-SJ’s Caviart) again reined by Kihlstrom, this time for trainer Roger Walmann. Milligan’s School was second.
On July 5 at Landesberg was the Berncancerfondens (100,000SEK to winner, 1640 meters autostart) and the 1.10.7kr clocked winner was 1.9/1 Canari Match (5m Extreme Aunou-Ruelle d’Ostral-Joel l’Amoroso), again for Kihlstom, Reden and Stall Zet. Food Money took second for Ulf Ohlsson.
