Today’s Gr. I Grand Criterium de Vitesse de la Cote d’Azur (purse 170,000€, 1609 meters autostart, International 4-11 year-olds) at Cagnes sur Mer saw 3/2 odds Vivid Wise As (7m Yankee Glide-Temple Blue Chip-Cantab Hall) gamely hold for a narrow victory timed in 1.10.1kr (1:52.83 for the mile).

Trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro teamed the winner for owner Scuderia Bivans Srl. This win was the sixth win in France for Vivid Wise As and it increased his life earnings to 1,145,398€.

Delia de Pommereux (8f Niky-Noume du Pommereux) rallied and just missed, finishing second at 6.5/1 for Eric Raffin, trainer Sylvain Roger and breeder/owner Noel Lolic. Third home as 8.9/1 Bahia Quesnot (10f Scipion du Goutier-Queen Ines) for trainer/driver Junior Guelpa as she held gamely after pressing the pacesetter Vivid Wise As early in the contest.

The 25/1 Billie de Montfort (10f Jasmin de Flore) was fourth for Gabriele Gelormini and 74/1 Elsa de Bellfonds (7f Tornado Bello) ended fifth.

Vivid Wise As

The winner’s maternal family is that of Muscles Yankee and Defiant Yankee. Vivid Wise was bred in Italy by the partners Allevamento Della Serenissima and Scuderia Wise H Sas. Temple Blue Chip is a 2009 foal by Andover Hall-Debbie Goes Down-Maiden Yankee-Speedy Crown.
