A series of age classified events took place today at Lyon-Parilly in France.
The three year old Grand Prix (purse €30,000, 2850 meters, 13 starters) went to the trained/driven by J-P Gauvin 2.1/1 odds favorite Catch Julry (3m Gazouillis-Dotcha du Coq). Second was 7.1/1 Caline d’Avril (3f Gazouillis-Elegante d’Avril) handled by Mathieu Abrivard as third went to 50/1 Casanova du Corta (3g Gazouillis-Elisa des Jacquots) for Martin Cormy. The winner was timed in 1.17kr.
The four year-old test for a purse of €40,000 over 2850 meters drew 11 entrants. Favored at 4/5 odds was the winner Balbir (4g Ganymede-Manzir) for trainer/driver Mickael Cormy for Ecurie du Vieu Chene.
4.3/1 Big Boss (4g Xaar-Boyline) landed second for owner/trainer/driver Herve Chauve-Laffay and 16/1 Bea Darling (4f Love You-Native Darling) was third for Serge Peltier for owner Pierre Pilarski. Time of the winner was 1.15.8kr.
The Grand Prix for five year-olds (purse €40,000, 2850 meters, 14 starters) went to the 1.16.4kr timed winner Ambiance du Loisir (5f Picsou de Villabon-Kiss Me du Loisir) at 27.5/1 odds for Pierre Callier. Second was the Mathieu Abrivard teamed Atlas de la Vallee (5g Goetmals Wood-Anita de la Vallee) at 9/1 with third earned by 3.6/1 Ariane de Caponet (5f One du Rib-Naya de Joudes) for trainer/driver Herve Chauve-Laffay.
The €40,000 purse Prix de Provence (2850 meters, 18 starters) was earned in victory by the 1.15.3kr timed Trinity Jiel (8f Goetmals Wood-Flaya de Jiel) driven by Franck Nivard for Ecurie Luck and trainer J.L. Dersoir. This 7.4/1 odds winner defeated 89/1 Urido d’Alban (7g Kerido du Donjpon-Etincelle Ker Anna) handled by Franck Jamard ahead of 1.9/1 odds Alik Julry (5m Cygnus d’Odyssee-Malika Julry) for trainer/driver J-P Gauvin.
This day at Paris-Vincennes was the €55,000 purse Prix Ostara (2850 meters, 16 starters) and the 1.13.8kr winner was 5/2 favorite Action Partage (5f Opium-Lovarana Flor) for driver Pierre Levesque, owner Mme. Daniele Gozlan and the trainer Mike Lenders. J-F Senet trained/reined Arlesienne (5f Niky-Orange) was second at 8.7/1 ahead of 32/1 Agrippa Mesloise (5f Jasmin de Flore-Jessie Mesloise) with Pierre Belloche up.
Also at Vincennes was the Prix Gerda (purse €36,000, 2100 meters autostart with 12 female two year-olds at the start). Franck Nivard piloted the Fabrice Souloy trained, Ecurie Hadij Coatings BV owned Dynamite’s Fella (2f Ready Cash-Romane’s Fella) at 4.7/1 odds. 14.3/1 Douce Ligneries (2f Love You-Ouragane) was second for Mathieu Mottier, trainer Yves Boireau and owner Jean-Pierre Dubois. Favored 1.8/1 odds Deesse Port (2f Uniclove-Mania Port) was third for Cl. Duvaldestin and owner/trainer Thierry Duvaldestin. The winner was timed in 1.16.1kr. There will be some top fillies emerging from this group.
Three year-old monte males battled in the €36,000 Prix Electra (14 starters, 2200 meters) with the 1.16.5kr win earned by 5.4/1 Cesar Volo (3m Prince de Montfort-Qualite Volo) for jockey David Thomain. 8/1 Colombo Bella (3m Korean-Limelight) was next to the line for Cl. Frecelle and favorite 1.2/1 odds Coco de la Leuc (3g Korean-Plata de Lou) ended third for Mathieu Mottier.
