Vanae des Voirons (9f Quido du Goutier-Danae des Voirons) scored at 21/1 and overcame a 25 meter handicap in today’s second leg of the Trophee Vert Tour de France des Trotteurs, today named the Grand Prix du PMU “Le Saint-Cloud” (purse €45,000, 3500 meters distance handicap, 16 starters).
Jean Francois David teamed the winner, he also owner and trainer of the now winner of €283,780.
Race time was 1.16.2kr for the winning horse.
13/1 Uvinto (10g Invar) was second for Christian Boisnard, the trainer and driver. This one was clocked in 1.17.7kr off a 50 meter penalty. 23/1 Vanderlov (9g Orlando Vici) took third for driver L-M David clocked in 1.17.9kr also from a 50 meter handicap. 1.1/1 favorite and 25 meter penalized Authorized (8g Kaisy Dream) held fourth for Thomas Levesque after leading at top of stretch and fifth was 25 meter handicapped and 16/1 Bingo d’Attaque (7m Pomerol de Laumac)with Stephane Bourlier up.
The day’s activities included trotting on the turf at Tours-Chambray for apprentice drivers and a contest for amateur teamsters.
Next week action in France includes Friday’s Prix de l’Atlantique (Gr. I International, purse €200,000, 2150 meters autostart) at Enghien. Initially 33 top flight performers have been engaged including Bold Eagle, Bird Parker, Un Mec d’Heripre, Billie de Montfort, Belina Josselyn, Amiral Sacha and many other tough campaigners.
This race is a European Trotting Masters 2018 event.
