It was reported via the Sun Sentinel newspaper that harness racing’s Hall of Fame driver, Brian Sears, was arrested Tuesday evening after an altercation in a Fort Lauderdale, Florida bar.
Sears, 51, was charged with touching, striking/battery.
This past season Sears scored his 10,000th career victory and the horses he has driven have earnings of more than $189 million. He was inducted into the Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 2017.
There were no further details revealed on the arrest. Sears has had prior problems with altercations and was once suspended from racing due to drug abuse.
