Super star pacer Chase Auckland had his first public hitout after injury yesterday at the Ashburton harness racing workouts and looked to have come back in fine fettle judging by his appearance.
The Auckland Reactor gelding is now a stronger looking 4yo who is in for a big season which could be starting as soon as next month.
Chasing an entry into the Chariots of Fire in Australia, his first start is likely to be the North Island early in January followed by a possible Australian campaign after that.
In yesterdays workout he was driven by Tim Williams who is filling in for Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen while they are in Australia for Inter Dominion duties with Spankem and Cruz Bromac.
Chase Auckland settled back in the field off the mobile in what was only a quiet workout and he really only followed the field around never hooking off the back of Miss Big the horse in front of him, but running home a last half strongly in around 56 seconds under a strong hold with the hood still on.
