Chase The Dream was the centre of attention among fans and followers after his gritty win in the Sires Stakes heat at the harness racing meeting at Addington last Thursday night but he was getting a lot more attention from the stable an hour after the race.
Chase The Dream was slightly tender on a foot after cooling out and that was a cause for major concern with so many big races coming up but Natalie was soon confident she had the answer.
"There's something annoying him in the foot."
"A nail coming through or a bruise coming out."
"There's no sign of any trouble in the muscle or joint department he is quite free there."
"But I want to deal with it straight away."
"He is a great little horse to work with so we will get straight on to it " Natalie said.
So the winning glamour was quickly forgotten by our leading horsewoman with staff help.
She took The near front shoe off and bathed the foot before Chase the Dream was headed home for further treatment.
Before then Chase The Dream had done it right in the Sires Stakes sitting outside Aussie Salty Robyn and having a length to spare over him to give him his fifth win in six starts in 2.23 the last 400m in 28.
"There wasn't too much to worry about going into the race because Waikiki Beach had done so well in Australia after beating us in the Welcome and he ran up to that."
"He is a good horse in that he has speed but is also tough so sitting out there when they are not going too fast quite suits him."
"He's a grouse little guy really" Natalie said.
