The $100,000 DSBF Finals was named after the late Hall of Famer Marvin Bachrad

Dover, DE   On a mild and sunny afternoon the Delaware Standardbred Breeder Fund (DSBF) for 2-year old trotters ended their stakes season with two $100,000 harness racing finals.

The boys were the first race on the wagering card  The winning owner and breeder of the Harrington final, Jane Dunavant of Kenbridge, VA returned with a Dover win only with a different son of Dusty Winner, Air Time, breaking his maiden to stop the clock in 1:58.1 for the leading reinsman and future Hall of Famer, Tim Tetrick.

Air Time was one of a 3 colt entry trained by Carlo Poliseno. Touch Of White finished a half-length back in second and Rocky Bomber got the show.

The filly final, named for the late “Marv Bachrad” (Dover Publicty Chief and former Hall of Famer and USHWA National President) was won by Emmy’s Mayflower (Anders Bluestone-Stirling Charisma) in a sizzling 1:56.2, making it three in a row and earning a new lifetime mark for breeder,owner,and trainer, Eric Foster.

She was driven by his nephew, Russell Foster. Orabelle, the Harrington final winner finished second followed by Alert for the show.

There was one non-wagering $15,000 consolation race that saw Stella A (Anders Bluestone-Mocha) lead all the way in 1:59 for driver, Ross Wolfenden and trainer, Joe MacDonald. She is owned by her breeder, Linda MacDonald. Blue Carats was second followed by the lone gelding, Master Of Mine, in the show spot.               

The $100,000 DSBF 2YO Pace finals are tomorrow night along with the $335,000 Hap Hansen Progress Pace. Post Time is 4:30.
