The Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen harness racing team finished off their Harness Jewels day that they dominated with an extra special 4 ¾ length victory by Heaven Rocks in the $150,000 Group 1 Sweet Lou at Woodlands 3YO Emerald.
The Rock N Roll Heaven gelding put his best foot forward today, as he boomed to the front to make it 5 wins from 6 races contested.
Heaven Rocks gave part owners Phil and Glennis Kennard their first victory of the day.
“This horse has a massive future, he 's a big horse and a big striding fella, he covers the ground so easily” said Mark Purdon.
With a last half of 56.5 he never looked like getting beat as he kept up quickly sectionals.
For the first time the stable has won every two and Group One pacing event in the 2016 running of the Jewels.
“That's an amazing feat and I owe it all to my staff. I came here today thinking three wins would be a pass mark, but to win five of the nine is incredible.
“You are nothing without staff, and this is an All Stars day. I'm absolutely delighted” said Purdon.
Winning Time & Margin: 1-52.4 MR, with a 4¾ lengths back to Major Ben in 2nd and a nose back to Motown in 3rd.
