The Grand Circuit will conclude its 2011 campaign at The Red Mile on Sunday (Oct. 9) with a pair of $243,000 divisions in the Tattersalls for harness racing 3-year-old colt pacers.
The first division (race eight) is led by Delvin Miller Adios winner Alsace Hanover. The son of-Arts Masterpiece has banked $585,920 this year on the strength of six wins in 12 trips to the post. Owned by John Fielding and trained by Tony O'Sullivan, he set his mark of 1:48.3f in the $500,000 Adios final on July 30.
In his only stakes engagement since, he was second by a nose toin the $500,000 Battle of the Brandywine at Harrah's Chester. The colt is coming off a pair of fourth place finishes against older foes in the Open ranks at Mohawk. He will start from post five with Ron Pierce in the bike.
The second division (race 10) features North America Cup champion, who has won seven of 16 races and earned $1,061,152 this season for owners Carl Jamieson, Thomas Kyron, Brian Paquet and Joanne Morrison.
Also trained by Carl Jamieson, the-Cantbuymehappiness sophomore was second to Big Bad John last Sunday at The Red Mile in a $101,500 Bluegrass division. Jody Jamieson will be in the sulky when the colt starts from post four on Sunday.
The races will be part of the USTA Cyber Circuit series with replays available "on-demand" soon after the "official" sign goes up.
