This Saturday, Horse Racing New Brunswick will host the Maritimes largest harness racing purse event in stake races this season as the Barrieau/McIsaac stake goes for $40,000 and has drawn a full field of starters.
Named in honor of Rufin Barrieau & Francis McIsaac, the race will go as race six on the seven dash program which gets underway at 1:00 P.M at Exhibition Park Raceway in Saint John.
Tobins Rebel has been listed as the morning line favourite and will be driven by Moncton native Gilles Barrieau, the nephew of Rufin Barrieau fow owner Dan Ross of Price Edward Island.
There are three New Brunswick pacers entered in the rich stake which include Little Manny, J J Austin and Bouttagetlucky. It's the largest purse of the season for stake horses and second only to the prestigious Gold Cup & Saucer in Prince Edward Island later this month.
