In form pacer Usain Colt had too much finishing speed for a handy field in this years harness racing Marlborough Winter Cup run at Addington yesterday.

The Greg and Nina Hope trained son of Bettor's Delight settled back in the running for most of the race, but sprinted past them easily in the straight to record a dominant victory.

The winners time of 4:02.6 for the 3200m was good in the slushy conditions and Usain Colt could be another name to go in the nominations for this years New Zealand Cup in November.

Earlier in the day Hayley Nicole justified her $1.40 tote price when impressively winning in quick time of 3:14.7 for the 2600m.
