Two harness meetings were held in Victoria on Wednesday March 27 with Maryborough racing in the afternoon and Geelong at night.

Chintin (Macedon Ranges) trainer/driver Steve Cleave snared the Intergrating Technology Pace for C0 class over 1690 metres at Maryborough with 4-Y-0 It Is I/Twisted Shout gelding Itscottobegood.

Starting from gate three, Itscottobegood having his 16th outing at the races lobbed outside American Para inside him, before pressing forward to lead.

In what was the "drive of the day", Itscottobegood kicked away on the home turn gaining a break on his rivals to score from the almost unbackable favourite Truman (one/one approaching the home turn) which finished all too late to fail by a neck, with Blissful Elmo third after racing in the open. The mile rate 2-00.4.

Werribee hobby trainer Murray Goats had punters scratching their heads in disbelief at Maryborough after his 9-Y-0 Our Sir Vancelot/Tealsby Greek gelding Tealsby Lyle greeted the judge in the Phelan's Funerals Pacers Handicap for C1 or better class over 2190 metres, paying Supertab odds of $154.20.

Driven by John Caldow, Tealsby Lyle was given an easy time by John Caldow three back along the markers with Teniamo leading from barrier three.

Never leaving the inside, Tealsby Lyle produced a flying finish along the sprint lane to gain the day by 2.6 metres in a rate of 2-02.9 over the pacemaker and Satisfied Grin which raced wide for the final circuit.

Parwan duo Craig Demmler (owner/trainer) and Jodi Quinlan (driver) landed the Freemantle Stockfeeds Pace for C4 & C5 class over 2190 metres at Maryborough wiith honest 7-Y-0 Aces N Sevens/Summer Lace gelding Summer Ace in a slick mile rate of 1-56.9.

Presently on the market, Summer Ace came out running from gate four to lead and in a swiftly run affair, defied all challengers to score easily in advance of Bettor Give It along the sprint lane from three back the markers, with Advance To Go third after following the winner. The margins 10.2 metres by a nose.

It was a night of night's for the Melton/Bacchus Marsh area at Geelong,

Parwan's Jaime Madruga made a rare appearance in the sulky and was victorious aboard his 4-Y-0 D M Dilinger/Laia gelding Amazing Kano in the Faggs Mitre 10 Pace for C2 class over 2100 metres.

Pushing through from the extreme draw to possie one/one, Amazing Kano was left in the open after On The Leash crossed the pacemaker Black And Yellow.

Taking a narrow lead on the final bend, Amazing Kano held a margin to the wire in defeating a game On The Leash and Eljulio (four wide home turn) in a rate of 1-59.2.

Neighbour Alan Tubbs was also a winner when above average 4-Y-0 Rustler Hanover/Kano Blaze mare Blazeaway Macray greeted the judge in the Neil Allen Pace for C2 class over 2100 metres, proving a tonic for part-owner/breeder Brian Dobson who had been in hospital for a few days.

Driven as usual by Amy Tubbs, Blazeaway Macray was trapped wide from gate seven before settling outside the leader Real Grit which surprisingly was allowed to cross the noted front runner Incoming Flight.

Joining Real Grit on turning, Blazeaway Macray outstayed her rivals to register a strong 4.9 metre victory over the pacemaker in 2-00.1, with Ringtripleowe (three wide last lap) third.

Lance Justice loves competing at Geelong and landed a stable double with V C Devil taking the Next Trials 15th April Pace for C0 class over 2100 metres and Discrimination the Pace for C3 & C4 class over 1609 metres.

Four year old gelding V C Devil (Washington Vc/Devilish Loie) driven by Lance raced in the open from the bell, proving too strong at the finish for Clipper and Blue Seelster in an all Melton area trifecta. The mile rate 1-59.1.

Five year old Tinted Cloud/Disbar gelding Discrimination can put in a shocker every now and then, but was on his best behaviour on this occasion.

Driven by Rod Petroff, Discrimination pressed forward from gate three to cross Lombo Hallmark inside him and was never headed in accounting for the Adam Kelly trained stablemates Now Shezaterror off a three wide trail last lap and Shifting Sand which faced the breeze. The mile rate 1-56.7.
