Terang trainer/driver Matt Craven who represented his state in the Australasian Junior Driving Series a number of seasons back, has enjoyed his best harness racing season ever mixing both training and freelance driving.

Not afraid to travel, Matt was successful with speedy 5-Y-0 Armbro Operative/Red Celica mare Orion Star who has never raced better, in the Evolve Accounting Pace for C4 & C5 class over 1650 metres at Lord’s Raceway Bendigo on Wednesday.

Beginning swiftly from gate four, Orion Star was able to head off Break Twenty One inside her running into the first turn and allowed to bowl, ran her rivals ragged to score by 1.9 metres in advance of Melpark Maestro (five wide home turn) and the consistent Dual Agent Tabman from a long way back. The mile rate a sizzling 1-55.4.

Matt is dual gaited and kept very busy training both harness horses and gallopers.
