Four divisions of 2-year-old trotters competed last Saturday at Hanover Raceway and now the top 2 finishers in each division return for a shot at the $70,600 final this Saturday.
The $70,600 Balanced Image Final will go as Race number 10 on the 11 race program Saturday night at Hanover Raceway. Post time is 7:15pm.
Among those competing is Platoon Seelster owned by Dennis Hannath of Harriston and Caroline Holliday of Mt Forest. After his elimination win, Hannath said the 2 year old was 1 of 2 yearlings he and Caroline purchased at the London sale. Unfortunately the other yearling died when a tornado went through the London area earlier this year. Hannath says he's extremely pleased with the colt and is just happy they get to participate in the final. Platoon Seelster has earned over 21,000 dollars in just 2 lifetime starts and will be driven by Caroline's husband Ryan Holliday of Mt Forest.
The morning line favorite is 1 of 3 fillies in the final. Gee Okeeffe is owned by Wilbur Lang and Chris Beaver of Ohio. This 2 yea rold filly is one of the top Gold OSS filly trotters in her class this year and has already earned over 60,000 dollars in just 6 starts. She will start from the coveted rail position and driver Dave Boughton who qualified 3 different horses for the final is listed to take the reigns.
Also part of the card will be the Earl Ash Memorial Trot in race number 5. Post time at Hanover Raceway is 7:15pm and as always the card will be available for viewing and wagering on Horse Player Interactive.
