Recently-appointed Harness Racing New South Wales chairman Rex Horne and outgoing chairman Graeme Campbell received harness racing's highest honour at Tabcorp Park Menangle tonight.

They were both awarded the Ern Manea Gold Medal by Harness Racing Australia chairman Geoff Want, who also officially launched the 2014 TAB.COM.AU Inter Dominion Championship.

Only nine others have achieved the feat since the first Ern Manea Gold Medal was handed to Jack Phillips and Dewar Robertshaw in 1994.

"The last eight years on the board of HRNSW has been great and it's an absolute pleasure to be a recipient of this Medal," Campbell said.

Horne was equally grateful.

"Harness Racing Australia, HRNSW and the Club (New South Wales Harness Racing Club) are very good at keeping secrets," Horne said.

"This is indeed a tremendous honour."

Campbell and Horne have now been inducted into the Inter Dominion Hall of Fame.
