A marvellous finish along the pegs by the Steve Turnbull-trained Awesome Belmer guaranteed her a shot at Kiwi champion Adore Me in the Ladyship Mile in two weeks' time.

Amanda Turnbull was at her vigorous - and desperate best as she sooled Awesome Belmer through an opening to catch Lauren Panella and Chance right on the line for, well, an "awesome" win in the Garrards Horse and Hound Sibelia Stakes.

It ensured Awesome Belmer, a five-year-old mare, will join the likes of Adore Me, Leda McNally, Baby Bling, Elusive Chick and Vansumic in the $200,000 Cordina Chickens Ladyship Mile on Inter Dominion Sunday, March 2.

The winner rated 1:56.4 and deserved to win, although runner-up Chance and third placegetter Laterron (Luke McCarthy) certainly did their chances of a Ladyship invite no harm with impressive runs as well.

Even fourth placegetter, Delightful Christian (James Rattray) turned in an impressive effort.

Still Amanda Turnbull earned the plaudits of another marvellous drive and the Western Districts winningest driver, who had been battling the flu all week, showed the class she displays around all our country tracks in winning race after race before her pending move to Victoria, expected to be after the Bathurst Gold Crown.
