One of the greatest ever line-ups of reinsmen will compete in the International Drivers Series during
the 2015 TABtouch Inter Dominion at Gloucester Park.
Apart from one of the World’s best reinsmen in Tim Tetrick, a winner of over 8500 races and almost $200 Million in stakes, plus visiting drivers John Richardson and Alan Haythornthwaite from Ireland and the UK, the Australasian drivers have won a combined ten pacers and six trotters Inter Dominion Grand Finals, as well as countless heats and Grand Circuit races.
Gavin Lang, Chris Alford, Anthony Butt, Luke McCarthy, Shane Graham and James Rattray will compete against local Inter Dominion winners Chris Lewis, Kim Prentice and Gary Hall Jr.
“With the Inter Dominion at Gloucester Park and somany great reinsmen all assembled in one place, it
was a logical step to conduct a drivers series” said Gloucester Park President John Burt.
“Tim (Tetrick) is a wonderful ambassador for harness racing."
"He was a highlight of the World Driving Championship earlier this year in Sydney and it will be a pleasure for Gloucester Park to host one of the world’s great drivers and see how he performs against our best."
“Tim will certainly drive against the finest.
We have the only two Australian drivers to win more than 5000 races in Gavin Lang and Chris Alford, last year’s leading driver in Australia Shane Graham, as well as the NSW metropolitan premiership winner who recently drove his 2000th winner in Luke McCarthy.
There are seven individual Inter Dominion winners competing, including Anthony Butt, who has driven the most winners of heats and finals in Inter Dominion history”.
Racing and Wagering WA Harness Manager Noel Reilly was equally buoyant about the series and the
competing reinsmen
“One of the aims of the Inter Dominion was to internationalise the event and the Invitational Drivers Series is part of that initiative” informed Mr Reilly.
“If Anthony Butt is claimed as a Kiwi, then we have five countries represented.
We have also tried to have as many states represented as possible.
“It’s a talented line-up” added Mr Reilly.
