The hugely popular Interislander Summer Festival Omakau Trots are on at the Omakau Racecourse (South Island, New Zealand) on Wednesday 2 January. Interislander Summer Festival is a relaxing, fun, family picnic day with top class harness racing, free entertainment for the children and plenty of activity for all ages. The feature race will be the Otago Daily Times Central Otago Trotting Cup.
The Arthur Barnett Fashions On The Field was a major success when introduced last year and it is back, bigger and better this year. With additional support from the Otago Daily Times and House Of Travel a huge prize pool is up for grabs this year.
Entries are taken on the day before race three at the Arthur Barnett marquee by the Secretary's Office on course and the competition is held after Race 5. The winner will take away $1500 worth of prizes while second and third will also take home great prizes. The top ten finalists all receive a Clarins Gift bag.
The Omakau meeting is famous for it's huge childrens entertainment programme and this year could be the best yet! The More FM Kids Go Racing Zone will feature a raft of new activities this year while there will be mini jeeps, bouncy castles, pony rides, a massive lolly scramble and a Scavenger Hunt which features a prize of a family season pass valued at $360 to Highlanders matches.
Add in exciting on track activities such as the Interislander Ferry Race, the Tip Top Popsicle Moon Hopper Race plus the More FM Chart Toppers Sack Race and you have a very big day for the kids
One family will take away an Interislander Family Pass valued at $600 in the Interislander Family Cup, a 200 metre Piggy Back Relay involving mum, dad and one child.
Summer Sizzler gives one lucky punter the opportunity to win a $300 betting voucher while a Punters Club and several other great competitions will run throughout the day
