Monday (August 6) harness racing was held at Yarra Valley - one of Victoria's premier wine growing districts, which featured a compact eight event card.

Monegeetta co-trainers Lisa and David Miles have been dominant throughout the season recording almost 60 winners to date and added another two to the tally at Yarra Valley, when Dee Jay Jolie and Braeview Warrior scored in their respective races.

Usually Lisa takes the drive, however it was David in the sulky on this occasion, giving a quality exhibition in both races.

Dee Jay Jolie a 4-Y-0 daughter of Armbro Operative and Rock This Town showed gate speed from position three to lead in the De Bortoli Pace for C1 class over 2150 metres after taking advantage of a mares concession.

Always travelling on a tight rein, Dee Jay Jolie scored by a neck without being pushed out in a rate of 2-00.6, defeating Latoya Lass which trailed using the sprint lane, with Dillon Daphne (four wide home turn) 3 metres away in third place.

Elsu/Rea Bromac gelding Braeview Warrior making only his third appearance at the races, showed plenty of ability when taking out the Eagle Image Photography 3-Y-0 Pace over 1650 metres.

Starting from gate five, Braeview Warrior was immediately taken back at the start to settle at the tail of the field, with the heavily supported favourite Ymbro Awesome working extremely hard from gate three to head off Mon Visage inside him.

Sent forward solo three wide in the final circuit, Braeview Warroir despite being pushed even wider on the home turn, showed a great desire to win, scoring by a nose from a game Ymbro Awesome in a rate of 2-01.1, with Mon Visage a half head away third in the most exciting finish of the afternoon.

Astute Lara trainer Dean Braun has also enjoyed a great season and landed the Golden Wattle Club Claiming Pace over 2150 metres with much travelled 8-Y-0 Courage Under Fire/Cosmic Whirl gelding Cosmic Under Fire.

Claimed from a race at Tabcorp Park Melton a week earlier, Cosmic Under Fire starting from outside the front row was restrained by Daryl Douglas to settle at the rear of the field.

Latching to the back of his stablemate Im Hood Winked in the three wide line at the bell, Cosmic Under Fire received a beaut ride home and when taken wide on straightening, ran home strongly to score from the favourite Mister Douglas off a three wide double trail last lap, with Tasmanian Babyitsu an eye catching third after working hard to find the breeze. The mile rate 2-00 even.

Clyde trainer Jayne Davies has beautifully bred Art Major/Out Swing N 5-Y-0 gelding All I Can Be racing in great form at the moment, bringing up a hat-trick of wins when successful in the Yarra Valley Racing Pace for C2 & C3 class over 2150 metres.

Driven by Chris Alford, All I Can Be was driven aggressively from gate six to lead, before recording a 4.7 metre victory over Lance Justice’s in-form Discrimination which shadowed him, with Shandon Village running home nicely from well back in the field to finish third. The mile rate 2-00.1.
