Talented young harness racing reinsman Zac Phillips travelled a long way to snare a driving double at the Mildura meeting held on Wednesday October 31, landing the Zilzie Wins Pace aboard trainer Vince Vallelonga's D M Dilinger/Exotic Love entire Fergus MacCool, while also steering Bolinda trainer Paul Males' Bettors Delight/Cosmopolitan gelding Bettor Warrior to victory in the Zilzie Bulloak Wines Pace, both taking a concession.

Fergus MacCool was quickly away from an inside second line draw to possie three back in the running line, moving three wide in the last lap to lead on turning in accounting for the heavily supported Our Walden Bury from near last in a rate of 2-00.2, with Tandragee third.

Bettor Warrior always looked the winner after leading from the pole and was never in any danger, coasting to the wire well in advance of Saint Petersburg (one/one) and Coalemus. The mile rate 2-00.4.

Nyah Pacing Cup winner Saint Flash’s half brother Saint Storm (Peace Of Art/Torridon) was an easy winner of the www.milduraharnessracing.org.au  3-Y-0 Pace over 2190 metres, giving Mildura’s leading trainer/driver Shane Cramp a stable double after earlier winning the Zilzie Selection 23 Wines Pace for C1 class over 1790 metres with exciting 4-Y-0 Courage Under Fire/Ameridona gelding They Call Me Chaos.

Trailing the pole line leader Tiger Tees from a solo second line draw, Saint Stormy moved away from the markers in the last lap, striding clear on straightening to score from Shegoeswooshka and Village Art in a rate of 2-06.4.

** Victoria’s driving ranks have been reduced of late, with Damian Wilson, Scott Dyer and George Batsakis all on the sidelines following a spectacular fall on Kilmore Cup Day last Sunday, while Leigh Sutton is still nursing a serious knee injury after being involved in a fall at Ballarat earlier this month.

Nathan Jack also lost an appeal against seven day suspension for careless driving today – no date has been set for the suspension to commence.
