Youthful harness racing reinsman Dylan Stratford will long remember the Cranbourne meeting on Saturday May 15, as he registered his first success in the sulky, driving "boss" Dean Braun's 6-Y-0 ex-Kiwi gelding Bold Jester to victory in the Allstaff Airconditioning Pace for C2 class over 2080 metres.

Settling closer to last than first after starting from the extreme draw, Bold Jester taking a concession, was sent forward three wide at the bell, gaining a lovely ride home on Classic Falcon which eased three wide ahead of him in the final circuit.

Asked for an effort on straightening, Bold Jester (Go For Grins/Mia Bella) ran home strongly out wide to gain the day in advance of a game Classic Falcon, with Gentle Force third after using the sprint lane off the back of the weakening leader Allegra in a rate of 2-00.8.

Raised in New Zealand's South Island district of Canterbury, Dylan has only had a handful of drives and judging by his showing at Cranbourne, has a bright future.
