Since its introduction in 2012, the now famous Addington Met Multiplier has been the focus for many owners and trainers as a way to add real value to their normal harness racing activities.
This coming Friday night however will set new ground when at least six individual runners will be rewarded with the $7,500 bonus, adding an additional $45,000 in returns for connections.
Addington Chief Executive Dean McKenzie commented,
“The Met Multiplier Bonus has made a significant contribution to the horse numbers that race at Addington on a regular basis and it ensures those connections that frequently attend are rewarded for their loyalty. We have paid just south of $1m in bonuses since its inception including nearly $330,000 directly to trainers”
“The reason horse numbers are so important to a Club is that they are the key wagering revenue driver, which in turn underpins our ability to offer over $8m in stakes and bonuses here at the Raceway this season”
“Having at least six individual sets of connections qualify on Friday night shows just how popular the concept has now become and is a timely reminder as to the benefits that are available right now in racing at Addington on a regular basis”
On Friday night Tufflittlerooster, Illegal Immigrant, Ranfurly Rulz, Stop Means Stop, Heavenly Love and The God Botherer all qualify for the $7,500 bonus as does Fatal Reunion if it gets a start in Race 8. In addition, Franco Caliph, Highland Reign, Gunpowder, Sicilian Secret and BK Dawn also qualify if they can notch a win.
