Alabar’s annual Stallion Parade and Blue Ribbon Sale were held on Sunday (October 6) and on the most part the day was a success.
Of the 88 horses on offer at the sale, 64 of them were sold while the other 24 were passed in. The total gross of the sale was $211,350, while the average was $3,130.
Topping the sale was Life Sign mare Signyourlifeaway, who sold in foal to top racehorse Rock N Roll Heaven. She fetched $17,000 and was purchased by A22 Pty Ltd.
Alan Galloway of Alabar said that they were “happy enough” with the sale, but that he expects it to increase even further in quality in upcoming years.
Earlier on in the day, many turned up to view some of the finest horseflesh in all of Australasia as Smiling Shard, Art Major, Shadow Play and Courage Under Fire, among others, all paraded at the Echuca based stud .
