Today’s Gr. II UET Masters Series Prix Marcel Laurent at Paris-Vincennes brought out 14 starters to battle for the €120,000 purse over 2100 meters autostart.

1.6/1 favorite Aladin d’Ecajeul (4m Quaker Jet-Nancy d’Ecajeul) drew off in the late stages for Eric Raffin to score in 1.13.1kr. Sebastien Guarato trains the winner that defeated 9.7/1 Akim du Cap Vert (4m First de Retz-Prima du Cap Vert) and owner/trainer/driver Franck Anne. Third went to Athos des Elfes (4m Ganymede-Lezio du Bourg).

Well-regarded Village Mystic, Pascia’Lest and Tast Of Bourbon finished fifth through seventh.

Fractions were fast early and late in this event (1.09.7kr at 1500; 1.13.5kr at 1000; 1.14.3kr at 500 and 1.13.1kr at finish). This race was the Quinte+ race of the day with a €3.1 million jackpot.


Aladin d’Ecajeul wins Prix Marcel Laurent

Yesterday at Nantes the Gr. III Gran National du Trot Paris-Turf leg went to Up The Green reined by Pierre Levesque. The Frederic Terry trainee scored at 8.3/1 odds in 1.15.6kr over 3000 meters. The purse was €90,000 and 15 contested the event.
Up The Green is a six year-old son of Espeyrac Sun from Nemenine. J-M Bazire (also trainer) teamed United Back to be second at 2.8/1 with 4/1 Uprince ending third for Franck Nivard after over-coming a distance handicap.
