Over the last 12 months at Young Harness Racing Club meetings, no driver has enjoyed more success than Amanda Turnbull and she continued that trend on Friday night.
She picked up three winners, was denied a fourth victory by a neck and also snagged a third across the eight-race meeting.
Two of her winning drives came for her father-trainer Steve Turnbull, guiding both El Gran Senor ($1.60 favourite) and Oh I Am The One ($4.10) to success.
For El Gran Senor, who took out the 2,100 metres Young Locksmith Pace, the win continued an impressive run for the Radiant Lodge stable since arriving from New Zealand. From five starts, his worst finish has been a fourth.
Turnbull’s other winning drive came with a member of her own team in Taihape Sunset ($1.80), who ran down early leader Special Thoughts to win by a neck in the Lyle Jones Memorial. It was his fourth win from seven starts this season.
