Breeders Crown Sweden action was on stage today at Eskilstuna, Sweden.

Before those events began was the Olof Brodin Mares (purse 25,752€, 2140 meters autostart, nine entrants) with victory to 1.7/1 favorite In Toto Sund (6f Ken Warkentin-Marsia LB) timed in 1.12.6kr.

The Stall Zet owned and Daniel Reden trainee was reined by Erik Adielsson and the win increased her career earnings to 456,632€. 2.9/1 Shadow Gar (7f Pine Chip-Lady Killer Gar) was a nosed out second for Christoffer Eriksson, the driver for owner Pietro Gubellini and trainer Jerry Riordan. 13/1 Eva IH (5f Ready Cash-Magalloway) took third for Mika Forss.

The Breeders Crown for three year old fillies (purse 160,640€, 12 starters) went to the 5/10 favorite Conrads Rodluva (3f SJs Caviar-Moviestar) reined by Orjan Kihlstrom for the Stall Zet/Daniel Reden team, timed in 1.12.42kr.

The easy four length winner bested 5.2/1 Staro Miami (3f SJs Caviar-Stunning Lindsey) handled by Mika Forss for trainer A.P. Pakkanen. Third home was 4.7/1 A Sweet Dance (3f Maharajah-Sugar Step) for driver Per Lennartsson. The winner now has a career bankroll of 418,216€.

Next up was the Breeders Crown for three year old males (purse 160,640€, 2140 meters autostart, 12 entrants) saw the 4/5 odds favorite prevail and Global Welcome (3m SJs Caviar-Share The Promise) scored in 1.12.2kr by an easy length. Erik Adielsson teamed the Svante Bath trainee that Olof Brodin owns.

His life earnings are now 354,763€. 4.7/1 Into Boko (3g Chocolatier-Sue Boko) was second for Jorma Kontio and trainer Timo Nurmos. Third was 3.4/1 Betting Gangster (3m Going Kronos-Viola Silas) reined by Bjorn Goop for trainer Jerry Riordan.

The four year old female Breeders Crown (the Menhammar Stuteri) players contested that 160,640€ purse event raced by 12 horses over 2140 meters autostart. The 3/2 odds Mellby Free (4f Muscle Hill-Mellby Ticket) scored in 1.12.4kr for Bjorn Goop, also the trainer for Mellby Gard AB.

Her life earnings are now 545,255€. The 10/1 Hevin Boko (4f Going Kronos-Welat Boko) took second with Jorma Kontio up for trainer Timo Nurmos. 12/1 Global Upper Style (4f SJs Caviar-Platinium Shine) was third for trainer/driver Peter Untersteiner.

Four year old males completed the Breeders Crown (this one named the RS Mustang) events (purse 160,640€, 2140 meters autostart, 12 entrants) and the winner was 8.3/1 Selmer IH (4g Love You-Magalloway) with Mika Forss up for Stall Ratu and trainer Ingemar Hultqvist.

His life earnings increased to 203,822€. The 7/10 favorite Perfect Spirit (4m Andover Hall-Good Common Cents) was second for the Kilhstrom/Reden/Stall Zet combination, and third was 44/1 Vainqueur RP (4m Infinitif-Global Affair) handled by Ulf Ohlsson for trainer Frode Hamre.

At Wolvega (Netherlands) this day was the Gr. II UET Masters Series’ Prix des Geants (purse 66,000€, 2100 meters autostart, nine starters). The 2.38/1 odds Antonio Tabac (6g Crazed-Grace Tabac-Tap In) scored again, now six in a row, in his usual gate to wire fashion for owner/trainer/driver Oskar Kylin Blom. Race time was 1.12.7kr.

Antonio now has earned 259,486€, most for Oskar, the result of an 8-2-0-1-1 slate in the 12 starts under Oskar’s management. Antonio “found his Oskar” and took a 1.10.2kr record on June 21 and came back impressively in 1.11.1kr on September 29. Prior to current management the winner was only 5 for 67 under the legendary trainer Stig H. Johansson.

The 121/1 Panoramic (8g Scarlet Knight-Cartolina Spin) rallied late to be second for Robin Bakker and trainer H.A.J. Grift. 3.8/1 Up And Quick (10m Buvetier d’Aunou-Fichtre) was a game third for Wim Paal, trainer Antoine Lherete and Ecurie Quick Star.

This former Prix d’Amerique winner and third in the 2018 Yonkers International, made an aggressive rush for lead at the halfway mark, could not repel Antonio, took back to third and tried again in the final turn, ending third. 53/1 Banker Transs R (10g Revenue) was fourth for Jaap Van Rijn. BBS Sugarlight at 23/1 and even money favorite Billie de Montfort were miscue dq’s.

The pedigree of Antonio Tabac is interesting and gives rise to his gray coloring. His dam Grace Tabac is by the gray Tap In (Armbro Goal) and her maternal family includes Ata Star L, Speedy Spin, Frances Nibs and Speed King (Volomite). Grace won 13 times in 79 starts.
