Anvil Raider N winning the final race of his racing career

Anvil Raider N ended his career with another win at Northfield Park on Saturday (December 28) winning the evening's tenth race. The win represents his 23 win this year. His win tally ranks Anvil Raider N as the winning horse in North America for 2013.

Despite leading the continent in wins, this year will mark the final racing season for Anvil Raider N. The 14 year-old faces mandatory retirement on December 31 per the rules of the United States Trotting Association.

Anvil Raider N (In The Pocket-Motu Sweet-Great Mann) is owned and trained by Will Johnson of Monroe, Michigan. Ronnie Wrenn Jr. was in the sulky for the winning drive.

Anvil Raider N leaves the racing scene with 95 career victories in 281 starts and has earned a bankroll of $340,812 with a lifetime mark of 1:51 as an eight year-old at Mohawk Racetrack.

Northfield Park Adds $15,000 Guaranteed Pick-4 Total Pool To Sunday’s Card

Northfield Park is announcing the addition of a $15,000 Pick-4 total pool guarantee to Sunday’s (December 29) program. 

Beginning in Race 8, the $15,000 Pick-4 guaranteed total pool includes a carryover of $2,438.01.

Northfield’s Pick 5, Pick 4 and the Pick 3’s offer a reduced takeout rate of just 14 percent.    

Sunday’s post time is 5:30 p.m.
