Three divisions for 2-year old trotting colts and three divisions for 2-year old trotting fillies highlighted the nine-strong harness racing card on Thursday night (July 19) at Tioga Downs. Aperfectyankee (Jim Oscarsson) established a new stakes record for 2-year old trotting colts in the second division with a wire to wire effort in 1:56.4.

The 2-year old son of Yankee Glide – Asixpakfromperfect cut through fractions of 29.1, 59.2, and 1:27.4 before easing away from the field a winner in his second lifetime start.

Highlighting the divisions for 2-year old trotting fillies was True Day Dream from the locally based Dan O’Mara stable. O’Mara wasted no time getting the filly to the front past an opening quarter in 29.4 and then cut through fractions of 59.2 and 1:27.3 before dismissing the rest of the field with a final panel of 29.1 to win in 1:56.4.

True Day Dream was a bargain $3,200 yearling purchase for Joe Hess of New Milford, NJ and posts a record of 1-1-1 in three seasonal starts good for more than $18,000 in earnings.

Also capturing divisions of Tompkins-Geers was: 2CT: Boffin – Charlie Norris (1:57.4), 2CT: Show Ticket – Charlie Norris (1:57.1), 2FT: Dewey Lane – Jim Morrill Jr. (1:56.4), 2FT: Bull Spreader – (1:59.4).
