The second session of Arqana Trot's Prix d'Amerique Mixed Sale was devoted exclusively to stallion breeding shares.
A total of 77 lots were offered with 52 sold for an average of 13,725 euro. Aggregate sale value was 713,700 euro, up 9.3% from last year.
Shares of 2014 Prix d'Amerique starter The Best Madrik (2007-Lady Madrik- ) led the way. Two shares sold for 58,000 euro each and one for 59,000 euro. The share buyer owns 1/90th and is entitled to one breeding annually. The Best Madrik stands for 10,500 euro (500 euro being a booking fee) at Haras de Perriere. He is a well-regarded "classique" winner of Gr. I events and entered the stud in 2011.
One share of Texas Charm sold for 45,000 euro; one share of recently retired Quaker Jet for 40,000 euro and one share of Up And Quick for 36,000 euro. Up And Quick (2008-Fichtre- ), also a Prix d'Amerique starter, entered stud in 2013 and stands at Haras de Sassy for 7,000 euro (including 1,000 euro reservation fee).
Arqana Trot was formed on 2012 as a result of the merger between Arqana's two subsidiaries Trotting Promotion and l'Agence FranÃ§aise du Trot. Arqana Trot has produced a more streamlined sales calendar made up of eight yearly sales spread out to best effect on its three sales complexes, Paris-Vincennes, Cabourg and Deauville.
The final sale session at Paris-Vincennes on Friday evening features a host of current and future racing prospects.
