There were stakes galore at Truro Raceway on Thursday evening, as six divisions of the Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old pacing colts were featured on the Atlantic Grand Circuit Week race card.

K D Overdrive (Camystic) captured his $6680 'A' division event in 2:00.3 with Gilles Barrieau in the bike. The black pacing colt is owned by the Downey Stables of Quispamsis, NB. The Barrieau - Downey Stables combination also met with success in the second 'A' division event on the evening card, when Jackson K Down (Camystic) crossed the finish line first in 2:01.

Meanwhile Red Dirt Racer (Camshaft Hanover) and Todd Trites took first place honours in their event in 2:01. The ownership papers on the colt are held by Windemere Farms of North Wiltshire, PE and Clive Balderston of Moncton, NB.

The final 'A' division went to Lukes Cowboy (Brandons Cowboy) and Kenny Arsenault in 2:00.4 for owners Philip Valley of Vernon Bridge, PE and Jeffery Ruch of Innisfil, ON.

The two $2500 'B' division events went to Elm Grove Kaptain (Coastocoast Yankee) and driver Gilles Barrieau and Island Bobby and Danny Romo.

Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action continues at Truro Raceway on Saturday evening when the three-year-old pacing colts meet for competition. First race post time is 7 pm.
