The superfecta was by far the most lucrative wager on the menu. Fifty cent supers averaged $1,993 led by Saturday nights 6th race payoff of $12,783 on a 50 cent bet.
The $5 dollar quinella generated two very generous payoffs this weekend. 2-1 favorite Wesley Snip combined with 30-1 longshot The Long Goodbye for a $795 payoff on Saturday. The following night,4-5 favorite Fox Valley Lola was joined by 35-1 bomber VL Fern for a $5 payoff of $477.50.The $5 Quinella is offered on race 6 only.
The new 50 cent Pick Five is an instant hit. Sunday a one day carryover of $5,421 swelled the Pick Five pool to $30,983.This bodes very well for Maywood Parks Thursday Pick Five carryover. The Balmoral Pick Five starts on Race 7 nightly.

Business was strong last weekend as the half mile track opened their 62nd racing season. Friday's handle of $1,649,712 got the new year off to a great start.
Racing resumes Thursday at Maywood Park with a Pick 5 carryover of $7,748.Thursday's estimated Pick Five gross pool is $25,000. The Pick Five is offered on races 8 thru 12 and the minimum wager is fifty cents.
