A capacity field of 14 will face the starter when the $400,000 Group 1 BIG6 Hunter Cup is run this Saturday night at Moonee Valley. The field was finalised this afternoon when the barrier draw for the feature event of the Sky Channel Nights Of Glory was conducted at a luncheon at the RACV Club.

Joint 10-metre backmarkers in the 3065-metre standing start affair, to be decided at 9.35pm, are Gotta Go Cullen (12), Mr Feelgood (13), Mister Swinger (14) and Changeover (15).

Among the big winners at the draw were Stawell Cup winner Keayang Hanover (barrier two), gritty Queensland gelding I Am Sam (four) and star mare Deanna Troy (five).

Heavily-backed Western Australian raider Power Of Tara was one of the big names who didn’t fare all that well, being allocated barrier 11 – outside of the second line.

This afternoon’s function also saw barriers allocated for the $250,000 Group 1 Technyflex Inter Dominion Trotting Grand Final (2575m).

Kiwi star One Over Kenny retained her place at the head of the market after drawing barrier six, but Australian champ and fellow semi final winner Sundons Gift narrowed the gap in the betting when he came up with gate two.

Billy Royle (three), Whatsundermykilt (four) and Ronerail (five) will be the shorteners in the after landing front-row alleys, while the chances of Will Trapper (eight), Skyvalley (nine) and Save A Sixpence (10) took a hit when they drew the back line.

The other draw conducted this afternoon was for the $150,000 Group 1 Alabar Victoria Derby final (2575m).

Although odds-on favourite Captain Joy drew wide on the front row in gate six, his grip on favouritism tightened when the other leading fancies all drew the back line. Living On Fire has barrier eight, Crown Bromac nine and Franco Newsman 11.

The Derby field is: (front row) Hung Jury, Village Villain, Lightning McCool, Ultimate Under Fire (emerg), Broadways Best, Captain Joy, Hilton Fly High; (back row) Living On Fire, Crown Bromac, Staghorn Flat, Franco Newsman, Indigo Bay.
