DAYTON, OH. – Black Mamba As broke the track record for sophomore trotting fillies when she captured a $10,000 condition trot at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 2).
Driver Elliott Deaton was content to sit fifth through the first half mile of the race, then moved the daughter of Lionhunter up to third on the outside at the three-quarters and then sailed home a four length winner in 1:55. The clocking shaved one-fifth of a second off the previous standard shared by Herbies Wildflower and Consolidator.
Anette Lorentzon conditions the striking black filly for Aci Stuteri Ab of Paris, Kentucky. Black Mamba also won the $85,000 final of an Indiana Sires Stakes at Hoosier Park in August and increased her lifetime bounty to $149,250 with this latest victory.
Racing resumes at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway on Thursday night with a 6:15 p.m. post time.
