This Saturday features another full 14 race card from Balmoral Park, of which eleven contests have at least seven entries. This is great for a win better like myself, as the win price will likely be worth what I am willing to put into the race. (May 4, 2007)

Also, I am not looking to make any great big score. I am looking for some fine entertainment and a relaxing time as I am sipping an ice cold beer at my favorite OTB and if I make enough to cover my bar tab I am surely ahead. Anyway, here it goes with this weeks picks.

In the second race Festivus looks to pace into the winners circle yet again. However, Festivus will have to do it without Ryan Anderson, who is with My Boy David at Northfield this weekend.

Joe Anderson picks up the drive and Festivus bumps up in class. I am sensing an upset here. Western Image is coming from Maywood Park, where he finished a disappointing third, but did so at 155.3. I look for him to improve on the mile track this week and $50 says Western Image gets it done tonight.

The seventh race is a FFA handicap contest for $21,500.

This is a very short field with only five betting interests, but six horses pacing behind the gate. Likely to be heavily favored are the Robin Schadt entry of Make It Brief and Cardmaster, also getting a lot of action should be the four Shark Gesture.

I am going to go with a bit of a price and put $50 to win on Manhardt, the five. Manhardt set the pace with some strong fractions last week before giving up to Make it Brief in the final quarter. Last week was Manhardts return to Illinois racing and I just have a feeling that this week will be his return to the winners circle.

In the tenth race, a full field of ten chase the starter for a purse of $7,200. There should be great value in this race.

Johnny Be Cool slowed in the end of last weeks contest with really no excuse. Life Guard on Duty and Mantrix are each coming off wins and Prince Vince just missed last week. All this being the case, my choice will be Go Warrior Go. Warrior is a proven stakes horse dropping into this condition and $50 says Warrior gets back on track this evening.

This weekend is as good as any to get to your favorite OTB enjoy a good meal and some beverages while you take in some great entertainment. All OTBs will feature the Bulls playoff push, Cubs and Sox baseball and all kinds of great horseracing action.

It is also time to look into your Kentucky Derby selections as you can have an opportunity to GET LUCKY…HAVE FUN…and WIN MONEY. That is why they call it the greatest two minutes in sports.

FYI I also love My Boy David this evening at Northfield.
