Daryl Bier's Bandolito ($3.40, Bier) was a decisive winner in the $16,000 Open Pace Monday at the harness racing meeting at Harrington Raceway in 1:50.4.
Driven by his owner/trainer, Bandolito immediately went for the lead from post position four and never relented in an open length win over Adventure Bound and Just A Jolt.
It was the ninth win of the year for the 6-year-old Ponder stallion, who earned a berth in the $150,000 Bobby Quillen Memorial Invitational next Monday September 21 at Harrington, featuring some of the top older pacers in harness racing.
Bandolito has banked more than $136,000 in 2015 and nearly $420,000 in his career.
The draw for this year's Quillen Memorial will take place Tuesday (September 15).
Named in honor of the popular late Delaware legislator and Harrington Raceway/Delaware State Fair Board Member, the Quillen has attracted many of racing's top pacers over the years including three-time champion Foiled Again, harness racing's richest horse of all-time.
