Garnet Barnsdale

August 10, 2013 – After a busy period of stakes races, this past week was a welcomed quiet week for HANA Harness’ 2013 Grand Circuit Handicapping Challenge sponsored by the Hambletonian Society, Chicago Harness, IHHA, Meadowlands, Tioga Downs, and Vernon Downs as there were only three divisions of the E.H. Harriman Cup contested at Harrah’s Philadelphia.  At the end of the three race sprint, Garnet Barnsdale came out on top for the week showing a net profit of $145.  For the overall contest, there were no changes in positions as Richard Scott remains in first place with a $600 lead.

In an example of “Quality over Quantity”, Barnsdale made four wagers over the three race slate yet only one wager was a winner, but it was a good one as he had a $5 Trifecta key in the second division of the Harriman which paid $235.00.  The second place finisher for the week Earl Paulson cashed in on all his wagers yet he showed only a net profit of $79.50 for the three races.
