East Rutherford, NJ - Undefeated Bee A Magician not only showed her heels to her main competition this year but in doing so set the world record for harness racing three-year-old trotting fillies with a 1:51 triumph in the $265,500 final of the Del Miller Memorial Trot Saturday.

The 5th race saw Mistery Woman (Dave Miller) take the early lead from Fashion Athena (John Campbell) but that was short lived as undefeated Frau Blucher (Jim Morrill, Jr.) came charging on the outside at the opening quarter quarter mile in :27.1 to take command.

But right at the half mile marker in :55.1 it was driver Brian Sears, driving Bee A Magician for the first time, moving first-over and easily clearing to the lead. It was then a two-horse race as Bee A Magician held Frau Blucher at bay going past the three-quarters in 1:23.1 and then kicked in a :26.4 last quarter mile and pulled away for a four length victory. Frau Blucher barely held on for second over Mistery Woman.

Now 7 for 7 in 2013, Bee A Magician erased the prior world record of 1:51.2 that was co-held by Guienne Hanover and Check Me Out. The filly by Kadabra from the Balanced Image mare, Beehive, is trained by R. Nifty Norman and is co-owned by Melvin Hartman of Ontario, Herb Liverman of Miami Beach, FL and David McDuffee of Delray Beach, FL

Sent off as the 3/5 favorite, Bee A Magician paid $3.20 to win.

"I'm thrilled, obviously, she is as she is advertised, very very good,." said trainer R. Nifty Norman, "Whether we will race her against the boys in the Hambletonian we will have to wait and see. The format of going two heats is a little tough on a filly. We will know in the coming weeks."
