Bettors Strike has harness racing's prestigious Victoria Cup as his next target after winning the $A60,000 Cranbourne Cup on Saturday night (November 28). "He really lifted the last bit," Dexter Dunn, his driver, said.

Bettor's Strike prevailed by a head over the pacemaker, Ohoka Nevada, after racing in the open for much of the way. He rated 2.02.9 for the 2555m (mobile).

The 4yr-old son of Bettors Delight is trained at West Melton by Cran Dalgety for Jim and Susan Wakefield, of Christchurch, has the $A400,000 Victoria Cup at Melton on December 11 on his agenda.

Dalgety won that race in 1996 and 1997 with Desperate Comment.

"It was intended to race him next Friday night but he had a fairly hard race," Dunn said.

Dunn will remain in Australia to drive at Ballarat on Wednesday. He will return in time for the Addington meeting on Thursday night.

Mr Feelgood was a late scratching from the Cranbourne Cup due to a stone bruise.

"He was a bit lame but we have dug it out and he is OK. He will probably race this Friday," Tim Butt, his trainer, said.
