Driver Marc Campbell won the final three dashes of the 10-race card including the race 9 featured pace aboard his own Rose Run Quest in 1:56.4. The Winsloe trainer-driver was on top for every piece of the mile before drawing off to a six-length victory. Creepin rallied from last to finish second for driver David Dowling while Burn Out Hanover and Gilles Barrieau were third. Blair Hansen of Charlottetown owns the 44-time winner.
Campbell other win from his own barn was with Eagle Jolt in 1:58.3 for the veteran pacers 64th lifetime win then the driver guided Forever Paradise to an open-length romp in 1:59 for trainer Kevin MacLean of Kinross.
The three-win day by Campbell propelled the driver to an 18-race lead in the driver's standings with 122 visits to the Red Shores Charlottetown winner's circle. Gilles Barrieau sits in second place with 107 wins.
If Campbell can hold onto the lead for the final four cards of the calendar year, he will again make history with driving titles every year of the decade. The 35-year-old horseman first won the dash title in 2010 in his seventh season in the race bike and has not been heeded in any subsequent season. Jason Hughes tied Campbell for leading driver in 2014 and 2015, with Campbell winning outright every other year.
