Ft. Washington, MD — When harness racing driver Tony Morgan shows up at Rosecroft, good things tend to happen. Sunday night (March 10) was no exception.

Morgan steered Whambamthankumaam to a new older mare track record in 1:54.4 for owner Thomas Mucci and trainer Brian Malone. The 6-year-old daughter of Kadabra brushed past leader Southwind Ferrari after the half-mile mark to win by five lengths. The effort eclipsed the 2015 track record performance by Brilliance Hanover and Timmy Offutt of 1:55.

It was the second of two trotting wins for Morgan and four wins overall.

Don Dorado held off a fast closing Magglio to score in a conditioned trotting event in 1:56.3 for owners Harry and Carolyn Smith and trainer Erica Wagner who picked up her first wins of the meet with Bluebird Ideal scoring as an odds-on favorite for the Smiths as well in 1:53.1.

Morgan scored a conditioned win with Net Profit for Jeff Beauchamp and Ronald Short. Brian Wright conditions the winner who returned a nifty profit of $19.40.

Capital Builder won the $11,000 Open Handicap for Jonathan Roberts. Tucking in the three spot after leaving from post eight, the 6-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere edged past pacesetter Hickory Aloha in 1:53.1. Bib Roberts owns the winner and he is trained by Megan Tolson. It was Roberts’ second driving win of the night after scoring a claiming win with Three Rivers Dell for Mucci and Malone, giving them a double.

Sean Bier guided Sawbuck Hanover to an upper level conditioned win for Crissy Crissman-Bier and Joan Hamstead in 1:53.1, while Roger Plante found conditioned success with Bevnlindassunnap for owner-trainer Ken Schlotzhauer in 1:53.4.

Musclebeachboy scored an easy lower level claiming win for Roberta Nikodemski and trainer Sheldon Powell. Ricky Still won the $5,000 claimer for Midsize Construction Inc., easing past leader Mr Big Bucks in the final strides.

Jeff Stafford opened the curtain with an impressive non-winners of three win with Bluebird Goldwyn in 1:54.2 for Michael Amodei. Tyler Davis took a conditioned win with Centering for owner-trainer Harry Marsh Jr.

Hey Dali went a perfect three-for-three in the Greg Trotto barn for owner Kevin Shaplin, setting a new mark of 1:52.2 for Frank Milby and was scooped up for $10,000 as claiming action remained very brisk during this meet.
